Published from 1901 to 1931, R. L. Polk’s directory contains some useful information for the historical researcher.
The principal part of the directory is a business directory, listing names of businesses and the type of business each does.
A section on farmers and landowners lists the registered name of the owner, the number of acres owned, the assessed valuation, and the owner’s post office address (meaning the City in which his post office was).
There are some problems, however – while addresses for businesses are given in the case of larger cities (such as Ogden or Salt Lake), for Box Elder County addresses are not given.
